Functional Family Therapy (FFT) is an evidence based practice for at risk youth (age 11-18 years) and their families/support.
Preventative intervention to reduce out-of-home placement or further involvement while simultaneously building coping skills, resiliency and strengthening family systems.
Short term (12-16 sessions typically/3-5 months provided in home with the family).
Youth / family concerns: Violence, drug abuse/use, emotional and behavioral concerns, gang involvement, family/relationship, trauma, abuse/neglect.
Parents/caregivers must be part of the therapeutic process. It is a family-based, strengths-based program to resolve familial conflict, peer concerns, behavioral issues, violence, and other concerns involving the youth and family members.
This program is a collaborative among FSA NEPA and the following organizations:
- Luzerne County Court System
- Luzerne County Children and Youth Services
